Media Festival Project

Attached you will find a video of our Media Festival Project. Please view and enjoy.

Shadow and Rotation of the Earth

The students tracked the shadow of the ruler all day to explain how the rotation of the Earth makes it appear as if the Sun travels across our sky. They also learned that at noon your shadow appears the shortest.

FIRE!!

The students read a story about fire and the history of the fire department. As a connection to this the Gum Branch Volunteer Fire Department came to the school and spoke to the fourth grade students about fire departments, equipment, and volunteering. We thank Chief Fisher, Lt. Young, and fire fighter explorers Sawyer and Gould for their time.

Fourth Grade is Great.

Now that I am a fourth grade teacher, I feel like there are many new options and opportunities opening up for me to teach. Recently we have started a science project. Remember that I have given the students rubrics to follow and that the assignment is due on September 19. We will be exploring American Indians soon and doing a report on one tribe. Mathematics is a new adventure and we will have a novel study in the future. I am very excited about fourth grade.
