Median, Mode, and Range

Students used playing cards to determine the median, mode, and range of a set of data. Median is the middle number in the set of data. If there are 2 medians, it is the number in the middle of the 2 median. Mode is the number that occurs most frequently in the set of data. The range is the difference between the smallest and largest number in the set of data.

FIRE!!

The students read a story about fire and the history of the fire department. As a connection to this the Gum Branch Volunteer Fire Department came to the school and spoke to the fourth grade students about fire departments, equipment, and volunteering. We thank Chief Fisher, Lt. Young, and fire fighter explorers Sawyer and Gould for their time.
